rose street south africa
47 men today awaiting work
day laborers hiding in slivers of shadow
miniscule protection from beatdown sun
street toilets and cars trucks zooming past
if in way, body smashed
and as i handed out apples
small sustenance samples
one young man came up to me and said
"thanks, bhuti, this is the first thing a white person ever gave me."
Welcome to Race Has Nothing To Do WIth You
Much of my life is consumed by schools, so what I write is directly related to educators, students, advocates, parents, and caring people. But I am human, and I write about what moves me. I write so I can survive the hatred, ignorance, and blatant apathy towards low income people of color. Read on, and if you love or hate what I write, let me know. Peace.
